Ox Ranch offers the beautiful and elusive Fallow Deer. We have all three color varieties including Chocolate Fallow, Spotted Fallow, and White Fallow. Our Fallow Deer are free ranging on over 18,000 acres of Texas Hill Country, creating a very challenging but rewarding hunt!

You may hunt our trophy Fallow Deer using any method you prefer, including Spot and Stalk, Bow Hunting, Rifle Hunting, Pistol Hunting, Safari Style, or from a Blind.

The call of a Fallow deer is called “groaning” and sounds very similar to burping.
Fallow deer prefer to go under obstacles rather than jump over.
The Romans helped spread fallow deer across Europe.
During rut, it is common to find bucks limping, looking years older than their actual age, and appearing as if they won’t survive another day.
Many Fallow die from fighting during rut!

Top-Shelf Experience The Ox Ranch experience far exceeded my expectations with a top-shelf professional experience throughout the entire stay. My hunting party of six had two guides, Sam and Dylan. Their knowledge and experience were the forced multiplier in the success of our trip. Sam and Dylan gained a deep knowledge of the animals and hunting experience each of us wanted. Their understanding of the ranch terrain, animal behavior, and attention to client needs was remarkable. We hunted by bow, pistol, and rifle during our stay. There were so many treasured memories! The variety of Fallow Deer, coupled with these two guides, put me in front of the most beautiful Fallow Deer throughout the entire 1,800 acres. It was impressive to see how well a great guide can distinguish animal characteristics from 500+ yards away and help get you dialed into your shot preferences.
